Read the complete assigned passage before isolating a phrase or answering a question. Identify the speakers, setting, repeated words, problem, response, and the change that occurs by the end of the unit.

What to notice
- Watch what Jesus says and does, and how people respond.

Treat a direct statement in the passage as explicit. Label a conclusion that combines several verses as Scripture-supported. Where careful readers disagree, name the view as interpretation rather than presenting it as the only possible reading.
