Before the sun rose over stone, before the battle line was
drawn, the ark went forward through the dust, and Israel followed
God. No voice of man, no pride of kings, no boast
beneath the morning sky, only the sound of holy feet and
seven trumpets cry.
Joshua rose
in the break of day With the weight of the promise
in his eyes Priests took the ark of the covenant And
the ram's horns lifted high Round the walls where the nation
slept Round the gates where the proud men stood They marched
by faith through the silent dust Believing that the Lord was
good No sword was raised, no spear was thrown But heaven
had already spoken Step after step in the dust, in the
dawn Hold to the word, keep marching on When God gives
the city, the world cannot stay When He commands the people,
the stone gives way When the trumpets cry and the people
shout What God has spoken will come down Not by our
power, not by our name The Lord goes before us and
breaks what stands in the way Lift up the sound, let
faith rise now When the trumpets cry,
the walls come down Six days passed with a holy wait,
one long road around the wall. No answer came from the
stones above, but they still obeyed the call.
Then the seventh morning burned with fire, and the people circled
seven times. The breath of a nation held inside, till the
Lord released the sign. The breeze drew breath, the horns rang
out And the earth began to tremble Step after step till
the promise is near Stand in the dust and conquer fear
When God gives the city, the wall cannot stay When he
commands the people, the stone gives way When the trumpets cry
and the people shout What God has spoken will come down
Not by our power, not by our name The Lord goes
before us And breaks what stands in the way Lift up
the sound Let faith rise now When the trumpets
cry, the walls come down Shout for the Lord has given,
shout for the King has won Shout for the stone is
broken, shout for the work is done Mercy was kept in
the house of Rahab, grace was alive in a scarlet side
While judgment fell on the pride of Jericho God remembered the
faithful line The silver, the gold, the bronze, the iron Were
gathered for the house of the Lord The city fell beneath
his sentence But mercy walked through the door Not every wall
falls fast not every promise comes with thunder But every step
of faith is heard by the God of wonders So march
when the road is silent, stand when the giants stare The
battle belongs to the Holy One and the Lord is already
there When the trumpets cry and the people shout What
God has spoken will come down Not by our power, not
by our name The Lord goes before us And breaks what
stands in the way
Lift up the sound Let faith rise now When the
trumpets cry The walls come down When the trumpets cry And
the people shout Strongholds shake And fear runs out The promise
stands The proud fall down When the Lord goes before us
The walls come down Rahab lived among his people Mercy stood
where judgment passed The Lord was faithful in the battle And
his word was true at last When the trumpets cry
The walls come down
