The Book of Judges.
God needed only 300.
Seven years the Midianites stripped the land.
Israel crying out with empty hands. A man at the
winepress hiding from the sword. When fire fell from heaven and
he heard the Lord.
Mighty warrior, the Lord of hosts is here Gideon said, how
can this be? I tremble with fear But the offering burned
and the angel disappeared And the God of Abraham made his
purpose clear Three hundred men against the host like the sand
of the sea Not by sword, but by the hand of
the Lord came the victory Trumpets in hand, clay jars holding
fire in the night God alone brought the battle and God
owns the light
The fleece was soaked and the ground around was dry God
reversed it and no man could deny 32 ,000 answered
Gideon's call The Lord said that is too many for my
glory to fall 300 lapped the water and remained
The rest went home and three hundred were retained No
spear, no shield, just a torch and a horn By the
weakness of men the enemy was torn Three hundred men against
a host like the sand of the sea. Not by sword,
but by the hand of the Lord came the victory. Trumpets
in hand, clay jaws holding fire in the night. God alone
brought the battle and God owns the love.
Outside the camp, in the dark of the night, Gideon heard
a Midianite dream of his flight.
He bowed his face to the ground and he worshipped the
Lord. Then rose and said, watch me and follow the word.
When the trumpets sound break the jar, let it fall. Let
the fire of God rise and answer the call. Not Gideon's
name, but the Lord shall be praised. Three hundred men and
the Almighty amazed.
Three hundred men Surrounded the valley at the dead of midnight
God alone Shattered the darkness and flooded it with light Rise
up and shout A sword for the Lord, let his enemies
flee Three hundred men And the glory belongs
to the Almighty
