Then Abram heard God, and a nation was born

From dust to stars, from flood to flame

God keeps His promise, God guards His name

Kings rise and fall, nations will call

Genesis thunders, the Lord over all

Isaac was spared, Jacob was changed

Wrestled through night till his name was renamed

Joseph was thrown, sold into chains

Raised up in Egypt through sorrow and pain

Brothers bowed low, mercy was seen

What they meant for evil, God turned to redeem

From dust to stars, from flood to flame

God keeps His promise, God guards His name

Kings rise and fall, nations will call

Genesis thunders, the Lord over all

Creation, covenant, exile, promise

The beginning was His.
