Lyrics

Escape for thy life, look not behind thee.

The angel sees the hands of Lot

His wife and daughters from the gate

The mercy of the Lord drew near, but judgment would no longer wait

Across the plain they fled the walls with terror burning in their eyes

The city thundered at their backs and fire gathered in the skies

No shelter in the valley, no turning toward the flame

The warning stood between them and the ruin of the plain

Run for your life, do not look back

Fire is falling from the heavens

Run for your life, do not look back

The cities fall beneath the judgment

When mercy pulls you from the dark

Do not reach again for what must end

Run for your life

Do not look back

Do not look back again

Then the Lord rained fire from heaven

And brimstone struck the cities down

Gamora burned beside the plain

While Sodom vanished in the sound

The roofs gave way, the towers fell

The streets became a furnace mouth

The smoke climbed black against the dawn

As ruin rolled from house to house

She heard the world behind her roar

She stopped between the fire and dawn

She turned her face towards Sodom's flame

And in that moment she was gone

The salt climbed through her feet and hands

Her breath and movement slowly stilled

A pillar stood up on the road

Where one command had been ignored

Lot reached out but could not save her

His daughters cried and drew away

The falling fire lit the salt

And turned the darkness into day

Run for your life, do not look back

Fire is falling from the heavens

Run for your life, do not look back

No city stands above the judgment

When mercy leads you from the dark

Do not turn again toward the flame

Run for your life

Do not look back

Remember Sodom's name

That morning Abraham looked down

The smoke rose like a furnace flame

The cities vanished from the plain

And nothing stood the same
