cBs Greatest Hits Volume One is out on Spotify

The first collection is live, gathering songs from across the library into one record.

cBs Greatest Hits Volume One has gone up on Spotify. It pulls songs together into a single record rather than leaving them spread across the books they came from.

Everything on it is still here on the site as well, inside the book it belongs to, with the passage it covers and the artwork drawn for that passage. The album is another way in rather than a replacement for any of it.

Every book of the Bible now has its own picture

Twenty six books were sharing a handful of album covers between them. Now all sixty six have artwork of their own, and every chapter in the Bible has a picture behind it.

Until this week, twenty six of the sixty six book pages had never had a picture chosen for them. They fell back to a record sleeve, and twelve of them were showing the same three images as each other. Six of Paul’s letters opened on one identical cover.

That is finished. All sixty six books now open on a picture chosen for that book and shown on no other page: Paul on the Areopagus for Acts, the wild olive being grafted for Romans, the high priest passing through the veil for Hebrews.

Behind the book pages, the chapter artwork went from 1,070 of the Bible’s 1,189 chapters to all 1,189. Second John, which had no picture of any kind anywhere, has one for the first time.

Reading in the dark got easier

The ornaments between sections used to sit on a pale band that glared in dark mode. They now sit on the page itself.

Every lesson breaks its sections with an illuminated ornament, and each of those was painted on parchment. In dark mode that parchment showed as a bright band straight across the page, which is the last thing you want when you are reading at night.

The ornaments have not changed. The parchment behind them is simply gone, so the gold and the lapis now sit on whatever the page is, light or dark.
