Filemón 1 abre con “Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly…”, cambia cerca del versículo 13 con “Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me…” y termina con “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.”. Estos puntos trazan el movimiento propio del capítulo desde su inicio hasta su conclusión.
