Difficult questions and responsible reading
Separate direct statements, supported conclusions, interpretations, and speculation.
Use this page with the passage open. Follow the references, test each conclusion, and return to the whole book for context.
How evidence is labeled
Explicit means the cited passage states it directly. Scripture-supported joins related passages. Strong inference follows the text closely but is not stated in one sentence. Possible reading and traditional view identify interpretations that should not be confused with certainty. Speculation is not used as a teaching conclusion.
What to notice
- Identify the people addressed and the covenant setting.
- Distinguish rescue, worship, holiness, justice, and community responsibility.
- Read commands in their literary and covenant context before making a modern application.
