Ask: What gives a person value when they cannot produce, earn or impress? Take several answers without ranking people.
Read the focus passages aloud in three sections. Ask listeners to identify who acts and what is given. Allow quiet time to mark the text.
Explain the image shared by male and female, the delegated human commission and the seventh day. Show that tending the garden precedes the fall. Explain help meet as fitting help, not a separate modern noun.
In pairs, fill the three columns with specific verses. Add one everyday example to each column, clearly labeled as application rather than a biblical quotation.
Use the questions below. Invite an application involving speech about another person and one involving care for a place or task. Keep responsibility proportionate to each learner's circumstances.
Ask each learner to complete: A person matters because... Review Genesis 1:27 and close with the suggested prayer.
Male and female in 1:27. The chapter does not limit dignity by status or ability.
No. Tending and keeping occur in 2:15 before disobedience; painful toil appears in chapter 3.
Created life includes a pattern beyond endless production. Application should account for real work and caregiving constraints.
Use pictures of ordinary created things and ask what care looks like. Do not require children to settle debates about the age of the earth.
Discuss worth in the presence of grades, appearance and online comparison. Require the application to return to 1:27.
Discuss dignity in disability, aging, unpaid care and work. Let differences over creation days remain a separate, carefully sourced conversation.
Do not equate a person's value with health, fertility, employment or marital status. A marriage passage must not be used to diminish unmarried people.
Creator God, teach us to receive life with gratitude, honor the people you have made and care faithfully for what you entrust to us. Amen.
Read Genesis 3-5 and notice what changes in relationships, work and family life.
