Teach the whole story of Genesis

Eight 45-minute sessions with complete preparation, teaching sequences, discussion guidance and separate student worksheets.

Prepare the whole movement; teach the focus passages

Each session identifies a full reading assignment and a smaller set of passages to study together. The chapter guides supply the remaining detail. For an extended course, give each chapter its own meeting and use its discussion questions. Difficult passages deserve enough time to be handled carefully.

A consistent way to teach

  1. Read before explaining. Give learners time to see the words, speakers and sequence.
  2. Show the evidence. Connect a conclusion to a passage and label a debated interpretation.
  3. Keep people visible. Do not skip servants, women, outsiders or people harmed by powerful characters.
  4. Invite a response without forcing disclosure. Learners can reflect privately and can pass on a question.
  5. Use music as a companion. Read lyrics beside Scripture and distinguish quotation from artistic paraphrase.
  6. Make the materials accessible. Each lesson has a teacher edition and student worksheet to print or download as text. The print dialog can also save a PDF.

The sessions are written for mixed adult or teen groups, with specific adaptations for children. Teachers should adjust vocabulary and pacing to their group without removing the passage’s meaning.
