What this page covers
The videos here take Jeremiah as a whole rather than one passage at a time, so this is the ground they cover: “I Cannot Speak, for I Am a Child”, “A Yoke, a Potter, and a Broken Jar”, “Seventy Years, and a Letter to the Exiles”, “A New Covenant Written Inside”, “Put Him in the Pit”, “The City Falls, and the Remnant Runs to Egypt”, “Burdens on Egypt, Moab and Babylon” and “After the Fall”.
I Cannot Speak, for I Am a Child (Jeremiah 1–10). A young man from a priestly village is told he was known before he was formed and appointed over nations. He objects, is touched on the mouth, and is shown an almond branch and a pot boiling over from the north. The message he is handed is the one nobody wants: my people have committed two evils, they have forsaken the fountain of living waters and cut out cisterns that hold nothing.
After the Fall (Jeremiah 52). A plain account of the end, told twice over. The pillars are broken up and carried off piece by piece, the temple vessels are inventoried, and the last note is that an exiled king is taken out of prison and given a seat at another king’s table.
