Lyrics · Daniel
One Like the Son of Man
Daniel 7:1-28
[Processional Chant]
Four winds troubled the sea in the night,
Books were opened before the Ancient of Days,
Beasts rose wearing the emblems of might.
Fire was the river and judgment the place.
[Verse 1]
Lion and bear, then the leopard spread wide,
The fourth crushed iron with arrogance for eyes.
The boasting horn spoke till the sentence was heard,
[Bridge]
No empire outlives the court of the Word.
Then one like the Son of man came with the cloud,
[Chorus]
Books were opened before the Ancient of Days,
Fire was the river and judgment the place.
No beast in his likeness, no violence his crown.
Dominion and glory were given forever,
[Verse 2]
All peoples and tongues came under his kingdom.
The saints may be worn for a season of time,
But the kingdom they receive will never decline.
[Final Chorus]
Books were opened before the Ancient of Days,
Fire was the river and judgment the place.
Dominion and glory were given forever,
But the kingdom they receive will never decline.
