Grace was measured to each, not hoarded in one. The ascended Christ gave gifts to His own. Apostle and prophet, evangelist sent, pastor and teacher for equipping the saints. Not to perform while the body looks on, but to prepare every member for work. Speak the truth in love. Grow into Christ, the Head above. No wind of teaching will carry us loose when every joint holds and every part moves. Children are tossed on a changeable sea, by cunning that hides in a doctrine's breeze. But faith and the knowledge of God's own Son draw us toward stature, mature and one. Joined and compacted, supported and fed, each measured part answering the Head. The body grows when no gift stands alone; love builds the house from bone into bone. Speak the truth in love. Grow into Christ, the Head above. Every saint equipped, every part made strong; the body builds itself in love.
