Lyrics · Ezekiel
Can These Bones Live?
Ezekiel 37:1-28
[Processional Chant]
Bone came to bone with a shaking sound,
Sinew and flesh rose over the ground.
Very dry bones filled the valley floor,
[Verse 1]
No pulse in the silence, no name in the dust.
Can these bones live? Only the LORD knows,
Speak to what cannot hear until hearing begins.
But form is not life till the four winds breathe,
[Chorus]
Bone came to bone with a shaking sound,
Sinew and flesh rose over the ground.
Then an army stood where despair had lain.
Two sticks in one hand, Judah and Joseph,
[Silence]
No longer divided by exile and blame.
[Verse 2]
One shepherd will lead and one covenant hold,
The sanctuary remains in the midst of the people.
Can these bones live? The question becomes song,
[Final Chorus]
Bone came to bone with a shaking sound,
Sinew and flesh rose over the ground.
Breath enters the hopeless and makes them stand.
