[Verse 1] The sons of God again present themselves before the LORD. God asks Satan where he has come from. The LORD points out that Job still holds fast his integrity. Satan replies that a man will surrender everything to preserve his own life. [Pre-Chorus] No answer came to quiet every fear, Only the weight of all that had drawn near. [Chorus] Seven Days without a Word, carry this grief through night, Tears have weight beneath the fading light. Truth still speaks when comfort has grown thin, And faith keeps breathing where the wounds begin. [Verse 2] Job scrapes himself with a potsherd while sitting among ashes. His wife asks why he still holds his integrity. She urges him to curse God and die. He asks whether people should receive good from God but not adversity. [Bridge] Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar hear of Job's suffering and arrange to come together. Seeing him from afar, the friends do not recognize Job and lift their voices in weeping. They tear their mantles, cast dust toward heaven. For seven days and nights no friend speaks because Job's grief is very great. [Final Chorus] Seven Days without a Word, carry this grief through night, Tears have weight beneath the fading light.
