Come, See a Man
John · Organic House
[Chorus]
Come, see a man who told me all I ever did;
Come out from the city, see if this is Christ.
I left my waterpot; I could not keep it hid:
Come, hear His word and find the well of life.
[Verse 1]
The disciples came and marvelled at the sight,
Yet no one voiced the questions in his mind.
The city heard my witness and began to move;
The road filled up with seekers from behind.
[Interlude - 4 bars]
[Verse 2]
They pressed the Master, saying, Master, eat;
He spoke of meat they did not understand:
To do the will of Him who sent Me here,
To finish all His work, this is My bread.
[Bridge]
Lift up your eyes; the fields are white already.
One soweth seed, another reaps the grain;
The reaper gathers fruit to life eternal,
And sower with the reaper shall rejoice again.
[Verse 3]
We asked Him to remain, and He abode two days;
At first we trusted what the woman testified.
Then many more believed because we heard His word:
We know this is the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
[Outro]
Come, see a man, then hear Him for yourself.
We heard His word and asked Him to remain;
Now we know the Christ, the Saviour of the world,
The promised One who brings eternal life.
