Where Is Mine Honour?

Malachi 1:6-14

[Call and Response] A son gives honor to his father, A servant gives his master fear. If God is Father, where the honor? If Master, where is reverence here? [Priestly Answer] “How have we despised the name?” they ask. The altar answers with the bread: Blind and lame, diseased and stolen, Careless gifts from careless hands. [Pre-Chorus] Take that offering to the governor; Will he smile and call it grace? Why bring the least to holy worship, Then ask for favor face to face? [Chorus] Where is mine honour? The question stands beside the flame. Lips can praise while hands diminish The weight and beauty of the Name. Where is mine honour? The altar knows what words conceal. A great King will not call contempt A faithful, acceptable meal. [Verse II] From sunrise unto sunset, The LORD's name will be great. Pure offering rises among nations; No crooked bargain sets its weight. [Bridge] Cursed is the deceiver Who vows the strong and gives the weak. God is not flattered by performance; He sees the thing the worshipers keep. [Final Chorus] Where is mine honour? Let every priest and giver hear. Do not call the table burdensome, Do not offer what you would not bear. Where is mine honour? The great King is feared beyond. His name will rise among the nations Long after false devotion is gone. [Coda] The altar did not need more words; It needed truth in the gift.
