What God sought was faithful offspring, Lives that honor what they heard. Violence can cover like a garment, Cruelty hidden under claim. Therefore guard the inward movement; Do not sanctify the shame. The people weary God with language: “Everyone who does evil must be good,” “Where is the Judge?” they ask in mockery, Turning moral order where it stood.
