“Will a man rob God?” the prophet asks. The people answer, “How could this be?” “In tithes and offerings withheld from covenant, The lack itself has testified.” Bring the whole tithe to the storehouse, Let there be provision in the place. The promise speaks of opened heaven, Not a market trick but covenant grace. Will a man rob God, Then wonder why the field is bare? Covenant hands cannot stay closed While asking heaven still to care. Will a man rob God, Then call the proud alone secure? Faith becomes a practiced offering; Generosity makes worship sure. The devourer will be rebuked, The vine will hold its fruit in time. Nations call the land delightful, Not because greed learned to shine. Harsh words say serving God is empty, Mourners gain no profit from the dust. The proud seem raised, the tempters rescued, So cynics crown themselves as just. But those who feared the LORD spoke often, Listened closely, name to name. A book of memory was written For the ones who honored what they claimed. Will a man rob God, Then treat devotion as a trade? The storehouse, field, and book of memory Show the difference choices made. Will a man rob God, The day will make the answer clear: God will spare his treasured people As a father spares a son held dear. One ledger counted grain; Another remembered names.
