[Verse 1 - the sabbath at home] He came into his own country with his disciples, And taught in the synagogue on the sabbath day. Many hearing him were astonished: Whence hath this man these things? [Verse 2 - familiar names] Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, Brother of James, Joses, Juda, and Simon? Are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. [Refrain] A prophet is not without honour, Save in his own country, Among his own kin, And in his own house. [Interlude - he marvelled] He could there do no mighty work, And marvelled because of their unbelief. [Bridge - two by two] He called the twelve and sent them two by two, Giving them power over unclean spirits. Take a staff, but bread, bag, and money remain behind; Stay in one house until ye depart.
