Better is the poor who walks in integrity Than one perverse in lips and rich in folly. Desire without knowledge is not good; Hasty feet will miss the road. Human foolishness corrupts a pathway, Then the heart will rage against the Lord. Wealth collects companions for a season; Poverty can separate a friend. Whoever pities poor ones lends to God, And He will pay the kindness back. Discipline a child while hope remains; Do not surrender life to ruin. A violent temper pays its penalty; Rescue it once, and you may do it twice. Listen to counsel and receive correction, So your latter days will make you wise. Many plans live in a human heart, But the counsel of the Lord will stand.
