Every Word of God Is Pure
Proverbs · Bible Songs, Classical & Orchestral
I am more weary than learned among people;
I have not mastered wisdom by my strength.
Who has climbed to heaven and descended?
Who has gathered wind within His hands?
Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
Do not add your words to what He has spoken,
Lest the truth expose the lie within.
Give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the portion that I need.
Lest I become full and then deny You,
Or become poor and steal through desperate greed.
Three things never say that they have enough:
The grave, the barren womb, the thirsty ground.
Four small things reveal uncommon wisdom:
Ants prepare; the conies shelter among stone;
Locusts march though they possess no ruler;
The spider holds in palaces and homes.
The eagle's way in air, the serpent's track on rock,
A ship across the sea, and love's mysterious road.
Pride may churn the milk until it hardens;
Wrath, like pressure, draws out blood.
Every word of God is pure;
Let humility become your truest song.
Place your hand upon your mouth before boasting;
Trust the shield that never leads you wrong.
