My Light and My Salvation

Psalms · Bible Songs, Classical & Orchestral, Worship & Gospel

The Lord is the light I see by and the one who saves me; So who is left for me to be afraid of? The Lord is the strength my life runs on; Who could make me flinch? When people who wanted me gone Came at me to tear me apart, They were the ones who tripped and went down. Even if an army set up camp around me My heart is not going to panic; Even if a war starts against me, I will still be sure of this. There is one thing I have asked of the Lord, And it is the thing I keep going after: To live in the house of the Lord Every day I have, To look at how beautiful He is And to ask my questions in His temple. When the hard day comes He will tuck me away in His shelter; He will hide me in the folds of His tent And set me high on a rock. Hear me, Lord, when I call out loud; Be kind to me and give me an answer. You said, Come looking for My face. My heart said back, Your face is what I am looking for. Do not turn Your face away from me; Do not push Your servant off in anger. You have been my help. Even if my father and mother walk away, The Lord is the one who picks me up. I would have given out If I had not believed I would see How good the Lord is Here, in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Take heart, and He will make your heart strong. Wait, I am telling you, for the Lord.
