Joy Comes in the Morning
Psalms · Bible Songs, Classical & Orchestral, Worship & Gospel
I will lift You high, Lord, because You pulled me up
And did not let the ones against me have their laugh.
Lord my God, I called out to You
And You made me well.
You brought me back up from the grave;
You kept me breathing
So I would not go down into the pit.
Sing to the Lord, all you who belong to Him,
And give thanks when you remember how holy He is.
His anger lasts a moment;
His kindness lasts a life.
Crying can stay the whole night,
But gladness arrives in the morning.
When things were easy I said
Nothing is ever going to shake me.
Lord, it was Your kindness
That made my mountain stand at all;
You hid Your face, and I came apart.
I called out to You, Lord;
I kept asking and asking.
What good is my blood if I go down to the pit?
Can dust give You thanks?
Can it say out loud that You are true?
Hear me, Lord. Be kind to me.
Lord, be the one who helps me.
You turned my mourning into dancing.
You took the rough cloth off me
And tied gladness around me instead,
So that everything in me can sing to You
And never go quiet again.
Lord my God, I will thank You
As long as there is any of me left.
