What the wrongdoer does says something inside me: There is no fear of God anywhere in front of his eyes. He flatters himself in his own sight Until what he is doing cannot even be seen as ugly. What comes out of his mouth is crooked and false; He has given up being wise, given up doing good. He lies on his bed working out harm. He stands on a road that leads nowhere good And nothing in him turns away from it. Your mercy, Lord, goes up as far as the sky; What You keep faith with reaches the clouds. What is right in You stands like the great mountains; What You decide is deep water. Lord, You keep them all alive, People and animals together. How good Your kindness is, God. That is why we come in under the shadow of Your wings. We will have our fill of the richness of Your house, And You will give us a drink From the river of what makes You glad. The spring that life comes out of is with You; It is in Your light that we get to see light at all. Keep on being kind to the ones who know You, And keep doing right by the straight in heart. Do not let a proud foot come down on me, Or the hand of the wrongdoer push me out of place. Look there , the ones who worked at harm have fallen. They are down, and they will not be getting up.
