Some sat in darkness, bound in iron, Rebels crushed beneath their chains. They cried to God, and He broke the prison, Shattering the gates of brass. Some drew near to death through foolish living; Some went down to sea beneath the storm. They cried to God, and He sent healing, Stilled the waves, and brought them home. Oh, that people would praise the Lord for mercy, For His wonders to the children of men. He satisfies the longing soul And fills the hungry heart with good. Whoever is wise will mark these stories And understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.
