The temple voice commands the bowls upon the earth. The first pours sores upon the ones who bear the beastly mark. The second turns the sea to dead blood; every living soul within it dies. The third makes rivers and fountains run the same red judgment. Blood upon Earth, Sea, and Rivers The appointed hour has come upon the earth. True and righteous are the judgments of the Lord. Let every kingdom tremble before his throne. The angel of the waters calls the eternal Judge righteous. Saints and prophets bled, and blood is given to their killers. No mountain hides the heart from holy light. The Judge of all the earth remembers every deed. From the altar comes agreement with the sentence from above. True and righteous are the judgments of the Lord God Almighty. Blood upon Earth, Sea, and Rivers The appointed hour has come upon the earth. True and righteous are the judgments of the Lord. Let every kingdom tremble before his throne. Blood upon Earth, Sea, and Rivers

About the passage

Revelation 16: The bowls bring the conflict to its appointed gathering

Seven bowls pour judgment over the beast's worshipers and the world that supports them. The first three bring sores and turn sea, rivers, and springs to blood, while heavenly voices explicitly connect the blood judgment with the blood of saints and prophets. The fourth and fifth bowls bring scorching heat and darkness, yet pain does not produce repentance. The sixth dries the Euphrates and releases deceptive spirits from the dragon, beast, and false prophet to gather rulers for battle at Armageddon. In the middle of that gathering, Christ's warning about watchfulness reaches back to the church messages. The seventh bowl is poured into the air and receives the declaration, "It is done." The Book of Revelation then shows unparalleled earthquake, falling cities, Babylon remembered for judgment, vanished islands and mountains, and crushing hail, while the final human response remains blasphemy rather than repentance.
