The Little Book and the Two Witnesses
Revelation · Experimental Electronic
[Spoken Intro]
Seal what the seven thunders uttered.
Write it not.
[Refrain]
Sweet in the mouth,
bitter in the belly,
take the little book,
and prophesy again.
[Verse 1]
A mighty angel wears a cloud,
rainbow above a face like the sun,
feet like pillars of fire.
One foot claims the sea, one claims the earth.
His lifted hand swears by the Everliving:
the mystery of God shall be finished.
[Verse 2]
Measure the temple, altar, worshippers;
leave the outer court to the nations.
Two witnesses stand for twelve hundred sixty days,
two olive trees, two candlesticks before God.
They shut heaven, turn waters to blood,
and strike the earth as often as they will.
[Interlude]
[Verse 3]
The beast from the deep makes war and kills them.
Their bodies lie where their Lord was crucified.
After three days and a half, God's breath enters;
they rise, ascend in a cloud, enemies beholding.
The city shakes; the remnant gives glory.
[Bridge]
The seventh trumpet sounds:
the kingdoms of this world
become the kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ.
The elders fall; the temple opens;
the ark appears through lightning and thunder.
[Outro]
Sweet, then bitter.
The witness still must speak.
