The Trumpets Sound
Revelation · Melodic Techno
[Refrain]
Sound the warning over earth and sea.
Still the rest did not repent.
[Verse 1]
The first trumpet scatters hail and fire with blood;
a third of trees and all green grass burn.
The second casts a burning mountain into the sea;
a third becomes blood, creatures die, ships break.
The third drops a blazing star on rivers,
Wormwood makes the waters bitter.
The fourth strikes sun, moon, and stars;
a third of day and night lose light.
[Breakdown]
An angel crosses the height of heaven:
Woe. Woe. Woe.
[Verse 2]
The fifth trumpet opens the bottomless pit.
Smoke veils the sun; armed locusts rise.
They torment the unsealed for five months,
under Abaddon, angel of the abyss.
Men seek death, but death flees.
[Verse 3]
At the sixth trumpet, four angels are loosed
from the great river Euphrates.
Horsemen beyond counting move;
fire, smoke, and brimstone issue forth,
and a third of men are slain.
[Post-Chorus]
Yet the survivors keep their idols,
their murders, sorceries, thefts.
They do not turn from the works of their hands.
[Outro]
Sound the warning.
Two woes have passed; one still comes.
