Lyrics

Word got out:

He's in the house.

Capernaum packed the door.

Wall to wall,

shoulder to shoulder,

not one body could fit more.

Four men came

with one man carried,

four corners of a helpless bed.

They saw the doorway,

saw the crowd,

then looked above their heads.

Up the wall.

Across the roof.

Dust falling through the room.

Hands tore back

what blocked the way

and opened daylight over Him.

If the door is closed,

faith finds another way.

Through the roof,

down before Jesus,

right into the center of the place.

He saw their faith.

And before He spoke of walking,

He spoke forgiveness to the man.

Scribes sat still,

but thoughts grew loud:

Only God can pardon sin.

Jesus knew

the hidden charge

before one mouth could let it in.

Which is easier:

forgiven,

or rise and carry what carried you?

So that they would know

the Son of Man

has power on earth to forgive...

Arise.

Take up thy bed.

Go home.

He stood.

The mat came off the ground.

He stood.

The crowd had to move aside.

The bed that carried him inside

rode home upon his shoulders.

Through the roof

he came unable.

Through the crowd

he walked away.

Sins forgiven.

Body strengthened.

God was glorified that day.

No one had seen it like this before.
