Seven men beside Tiberias After wonders, after
fear Peter said, I go a -fishing We go
also, answered there Night stretched over empty water
Every drawer returned the same The hands that once
had left the nets Found no answer in the old tray
Morning placed a man on shore
Unrecognized within the gray Children,
have ye any heat? No Was all that they could say
Cast the net on the right side The water
took the word The cords grew hard with multitude
Too full to lift aboard It is the
Lord! The empty night has heard Him It is the Lord!
The sea itself has served Him The beloved disciple knew Peter
could not wait for land He wrapped his coat and left
the boat To reach the risen man
The others dragged the heavy nets 200
cubits near A charcoal fire waited With bread and fish prepared
Bring of the fish now taken Peter drew the catch ashore
153 great fish Yet the net remained unbroken Come and dine
No disciple asked his name Come and dine They knew the
one who came He gave them bread and gave them fish
The third appearing by the sea The risen Lord fed weary
men Before he spoke to Peter Simon, son of
Jonas, loves thou me more than these Yea, Lord, thou knowest
that I love thee Feed my lambs Simon, son of Jonas
Loves thou me Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee
Feed my sheep The third question opened
sorrow Three wounds answering three denials Lord,
knowest all things Thou knowest that I love thee
Feed my sheep
Follow Jesus even where the road is steep The one restored
beside the fire Was called to feed the sheep
Youth had chosen Peter's pathways
Age would bring another hand The saying
marked the death by which He would glorify God
Then the simple call returned Beyond comparison
or fear Follow me The road ahead belonged to
Christ Not rumors about another
Peter saw the love disciple, Lord, what shall this man do?
The answer cut comparison. What is that to thee? Follow thou
me. A saying spread that he would never die, but Jesus
had not made that claim. The witness set the record right
and signed the truthful page.
Love must feed the lambs. Love must guard the sheep. Restoration
walks behind the Lord and keeps the charge received. Love must
follow Jesus. Not another person's road beside the sea where failure
burned. Peter heard you. Follow me. This disciple wrote these things
And his witness is true So many other works were done
The world itself could not contain
The books that might be written
