The Book of Zechariah is filled with visions after exile.
The temple is rising again, and the Lord speaks of cleansing,
courage, and the coming King.
In the murders Standing in the valley night
I heard the angel answer Is
Jerusalem still in sight?
The nation sat in comfort While Zion wore her grief
But the Lord returned with mercy
And the ruins learned belief So cry again,
he said to me My city shall overflow The measuring line
is stretched again And the holy fire will glow Not by
might Not by power But by my spirit Says the
Lord Grace shall crown the mountain And the
hands shall build once more Who are you? O great
mountain Before His word fall down Not by
might, not by power His mercy wears the
crown I saw the priest in garments stained
Accused before the flame. Then the angel of the Lord stood
near and took away his shame. A clean robe fell upon
him, a turban crowned his head. And the branch was spoken
softly like a root among the dead. Behold the stone before
him with seven eyes of flame. In one day he will
cleanse the land and call his people by name. Not by
might, not by power, but by my spirit.
says the Lord.
Grace shall crown the mountain and the hands shall build
once more. Who are you? Oh, great mountain.
Before his word fall down.
Not by might. Not by power.
His mercy wears the crown.
Rejoice greatly, daughter Zion Shout aloud, Jerusalem Behold, your king
is coming Lowly riding into them Not with chariots, not with
war horses Not with pride and lifted eyes He speaks peace
unto the nations And his rules shall cover skies
They weighed the shepherd's value Thirty pieces in their hand
And the flock was scattered trembling Through the
wounded, broken land They shall look upon the pierced one
and mourn as for a son.
Then a fountain shall be opened and uncleanness shall be
undone. Not by might, not by power, but by my
spirit, says the Lord Grace shall crown the
mountain And the king shall reign once more Who are
you? Oh, great mountain Before His word fall
down
His mercy wears the crown.
And the Lord shall be king over all the
earth that day. One Lord and His name one,
and holiness shall stay.
