Lyrics
These words follow the timed lyric file supplied with this recording.
They came back tired, full of stories Teaching, traveling, work complete
Jesus said, come apart a while They had hardly had the
time to eat Boat pushed off, crowds all moving feet
Went racing down the shore They reached the lonely place before
them Rest would have to wait once more
Jesus saw them like sheep scattered
No shepherd leading where to go So before
He fed their bodies He stayed and taught them what they
needed to know.
How many loaves? Five! How many fishes? Two! How many hungry
men? Thousands! What can five and two possibly do? Give you
them to eat! Don't send them away! Give you them to
eat! Bring what you have today!
Fifty
here, a hundred there Green grass underneath them all Bread in
his hands, fish beside it Eyes lifted, heavenward Blessed, broken, given
Hand to hand, row to row Bread keeps moving, fish keeps
going Hand to hand, row to row Everyone eats, everyone fills
Five, two, twelve, five Loaves, two, fishes Twelve
baskets left Give you them to eat What looked too small
was placed before him Give you them to eat and no
one left the field hungry Five
Two Twelve
Five
Two Twelve.
