Lyrics

In the treasury he stood Where lamps remembered wilderness
The one who follows after me Will not walk on
in darkness The light of life was speaking But shadows challenged
right Thy record of thyself is false They argued
with the light The light of the world was shining in
their eyes Some came near the truth Some sharpened their disguise
The light of the world could show the hidden chain No
darkness loves the freedom that exposes its domain They asked him
for the father While neither one was known He spoke of
where he came from Of where he would return He shall
die within your sins Unless belief can see They answered with
another question Who art thou to speak to me?
Lifted up Then they would know The Father had not left
Him alone
Many
believe the same So He spoke where freedom starts
Continuing the word of truth
We are Abraham's children. We never served a throne, but everyone
who serves his sin is slave. Though he denies the
chains, the freedom will be true A servant cannot own the
house The Son abides there still
They
carried Abraham's bloodline But not Abraham's faithful deed
A man who told the truth from God Had become the
one they'd seek to kill They named God as their father
He answered without veil Had God been truly loved by you
The one he sent would not be hated
The father of the lie Was murderer from the first
Falsehood was his native tongue And violence served the thirst Truth
found no welcome in them No charge of sin could stand
The one who truly hears from God Will hear the words
of God
They
called him cursed and foreign Said a devil ruled his breath
He honored still the father And spoke a word beyond their
death The one who keeps this saying Will never taste the
grave They raised the bones of Abraham Who makest thou thyself
today?
Abraham rejoiced to see the day He saw it from afar
and was glad Thou art not fifty years of age Hast
thou seen Abraham?
Before Abraham was He declared the name No borrowed life No
later flame Before the father of the nation Before their honored
claim The sun stood in the ancient present
Before Abraham was Zion
Stones rose from the floor
He hid and passed away The light left the
temple But darkness had not won
But yeah
