The story continues.

Matthew turns toward Jerusalem.

The king revealed walks toward cross and crown.

He told the twelve what lay before him The mocking scourge,

the grave, the dawn Upon the mount his face shone brighter

The father's voice proclaimed the sun He healed where faith had

failed before him He taught the greatest, served the least The

rich went grieving from his presence The humble entered through belief.

Two blind men cried beside the highway, the son of David

heard their plea. Then garments spread before the donkey, Jerusalem

received her king.

Behold the cross and the risen king, the stone rejected reigns

forever. Though rulers rage and darkness falls, the grave cannot contain

The sun, the veil will tear, the earth will shake The

guarded stone will roll away Behold the cross and the Rosen

King All power belongs to him

He cleansed the courts and cursed the fig tree He trapped

the proud within their schemes He named the greatest law as

loving Then mourned the city that would not see He warned

the watchmen, stay awake now Ten lamps burned against the night

The faithful served till their lord returned The nations gathered in

his sight At Bethany the oil was poured out, preparing him

for burial. Thirty pieces bought betrayal.

The bread was broken, cup was passed. In Gethsemane sorrow pressed

him. Still he stood when torches came.

False witnesses rose at Caiaphas

Peter denied and wept outside.

Barabbas walked while Christ stood bound there. Pilate washed his hands

before them. A crown of thorns, a scarlet garment, then Simon

bore the cross uphill. Between two thieves the king was lifted

and darkness covered all the land.

The veil was torn from top to bottom, the earth was

shaken, rocks were split. Truly this was the son of God,

the trembling centurion confessed. Joseph laid him in the new tomb,

the stone was sealed, the watch was set, but dawn arrived

with heaven's answer. No God could hold the risen king.

The angel rolled away the stone The women

ran with fear and joy The risen Jesus met them living

And worship gathered at his feet Silver purchased one last falsehood

The truth had left the tomb behind The eleven climbed the

mountain Galilee And saw the living king draw near

Behold the cross and the risen king The stone rejected

reigns forever The grave is empty, death has fallen All power

in heaven and earth is his Go forth and teach to

every nation Baptize them in the holy name Behold the cross

and the risen King He is with His own unto the

end The suffering King has conquered death The

risen Christ reigns without end.
