[Verse 1] A low lamp burns on a map of hide, four men close and the tent tied tight. He lays one finger where the road runs thin, he says the place, and the dark takes it in. [Verse 2] A man in Dothan lifts his head from the wall, hears a room he has never stood in at all. Sends it south before the light can break, and the ambush waits for a man who never came. [Verse 3] Cold pits, grey ash, and the trail going old. Twice, three times, and the hand never closed. So he turns on his own, says, which one of you? And a captain steps out: my king, not one of us do. [Pre-Chorus] There's a prophet in Israel who hears what you keep. He hears the bedchamber. He hears you in your sleep. So send out the horses. Send the whole of the night. Send an army for one man and one lamp burning light. [Verse 4] They came down the valley with the torches in a line, wheeled the chariots over, closed the ring by starlight. And the boy went out at the grey of the day with a jar on his hip and the world in his way. [Chorus] Fear not, fear not, though the hill is surrounded, though the ring is closed and the count is against us. Lift up your eyes, boy. Look again. There are more with us than there are with them. [Verse 5] And he said, Yahweh, open him. Let the young man see. And the light came flooding in like a tide, and the pupils drew down and the grey fell away, and the whole of that mountain came up in a blaze. [Chorus 2] Horses of fire and the chariots burning, rank upon rank on the ridge above the ridge. They do not charge. They do not move. They stand round the prophet, and they never have to. [Verse 6] Then he asked, and the whole host went blind, hands out in the dust for a rein they can't find. And one man walked in front and they followed his sound down the road, through the gate, into Samaria town. [Verse 7] The king said, my father, shall I strike them where they stand? He said no. Set them bread. Set the water in their hands. So they ate on the ground where the swords were stacked away, and they went home to their master, and the raiding stopped that day. [Outro] More with us. More with us. More with us than there are with them.
