[Commission] Be strong in the grace that is found in the Son, Entrust faithful teachers till many are won. What witnesses heard must be carried ahead, A living succession of truth rightly said. [Chorus] Endure hardness as a good soldier, Do not be tangled in lesser command. Strive as an athlete according to order, Labor as husbandman over the land. [Verse II] Remember the seed of King David arose, Though Paul may be chained, the word never closed. If we die with the Christ, with the Christ we shall live, If we stand through the trial, a kingdom he gives. [Workman Bridge] Study approved, cut the word straight and clean, Shun empty babbling and arguments mean. The foundation stands with its seal in the night: The Lord knows his own; let his people leave wrong. [Final Charge] Purge out dishonor, be useful and pure, Flee youthful desire, pursue what is sure. The servant is gentle, not eager to fight, Correcting with patience that God may give light.
