All our labor feeds the mouth, Yet appetite is never finally filled. What advantage has the wise above the foolish? Better what the eyes can see and receive Than desire roaming endlessly through air. Whatever now exists was named before us; Many words can only multiply the emptiness. Who can say what is good for passing days, For a life that moves like shadow?
