The old self walks with a darkened mind, chasing a hunger that always deceives. But that is not how you learned the Christ; truth has a different garment to give. Put off the old, put on the new, created in holiness, righteous and true. Be renewed in the spirit of mind; wear what God fashioned in Jesus Christ. Speak truth, for we belong to each other. Let anger set with the falling sun. Let the thief work, then share with the needy; let every word give grace to someone. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit by keeping bitterness near. Put clamor, malice, and evil speech away; make room for the tender heart here. Put off the old, put on the new. Be kind and forgiving in all that you do. As God in Christ has forgiven your debt, wear mercy where anger was set.
