[Assembly Scene] A ring of bright gold and a garment made fine, A poor man in rags at the end of the line. If honor is purchased by fabric and seat, Then evil has judged where the brethren should meet. [Royal Refrain] Love your neighbor as yourself, The royal law makes every partial measure fall. Speak and act beneath the law of liberty, For mercy rejoices against judgment over all. [Chorus] Faith without works is dead, A mouth may confess while the hungry go unfed. Do not say, “Depart, be warmed,” then turn away, Let living belief put its hands to the need today. [Witness Verse] The devils believe there is one God and fear, But trembling alone does not make the truth clear. Abraham trusted and lifted the blade, His faith worked with obedience in what he obeyed. [Bridge] Rahab received those who came to her door, Then sent them in safety another way forth. The friend of God answered, the woman took risk, Their trust bore a body, not words in the mist. [Final Chorus] Faith without works is dead, Like a body whose spirit and breathing have fled. Mercy must move and obedience must show, The faith that is living has footsteps that go.
