Is it nothing to you who pass by the road?
Do you measure the ruin, or hurry toward home?
Look and see whether sorrow has a twin,

Fire in the bones, a net at the feet,
A yoke made of choices too heavy to lift.
The winepress turns where the armies came in.

No comforter near, both hands in the air,
Allies were names that dissolved under fear.
The LORD is righteous; the city confesses,

Rebellion grew fruit and the harvest is bitter.
Yet those who rejoice are not hidden from sight,
Their evil also waits in the court of the Right.

Many are my sighs and faint is my heart;
Is it nothing to you as you pass and depart?
