Where Is Your Faith?
Luke · Doom Blues Rock
[Intro - low lurch]
Let us go over to the other side.
The boat left shore; the Teacher slept.
Then wind came down upon the lake,
And black water climbed the boards.
[Verse 1 - rising pressure]
Master, Master, we perish!
He rose inside the failing vessel,
Rebuked the wind, rebuked the raging water;
The roar folded into calm.
[Breakdown - exposed question]
Where is your faith?
The oars hung still above the lake.
What manner of man is this?
Even wind and water obey Him.
Fear and wonder crossed the water.
[Verse 2 - broken meter]
On the farther shore, a man came from the tombs,
Unclothed, unhomed, driven beyond the chains.
What is thy name? Legion.
Many voices feared the deep before one command.
[Post-Chorus - sudden clearing]
The herd ran down; the city ran out.
They found the man at Jesus' feet:
Clothed. Seated. In his right mind.
And fear filled those who saw him whole.
[Verse 3 - restrained departure]
They begged Jesus to leave their country.
The healed man begged to go with Him.
But the boat turned back without him:
Return to thine own house.
[Outro - testimony]
Show what great things God hath done unto thee.
Street by street he told the city
What great things Jesus had done,
And the shore remembered his voice made whole.
