Lyrics · Obadiah
The Kingdom Shall Be the LORD’s
Obadiah 1:17-21
[Call]
On Zion deliverance, on Zion holiness,
Jacob a fire and Joseph a flame,
Southland and plain, Samaria and Gilead,
[Response]
The displaced return to the fields they had lost.
The proud mountain learns it cannot keep its name.
Exiles once scattered receive place again.
[Verse 1]
Saviours ascend, but they do not own the throne,
Judgment is given, yet the crown is not theirs.
The kingdom shall be the LORD’s,
[Call]
Higher than Edom and stronger than swords.
The last line answers the first mountain’s boast:
[Response]
No nest in the stars can rival the throne.
Possession and holiness meet in one word,
[Final Chorus]
Southland and plain, Samaria and Gilead,
Exiles once scattered receive place again.
The kingdom, the kingdom shall be the LORD’s.
