Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled becomes a tree of life. Whoever despises the word will be destroyed; Whoever fears commandment will receive reward. Walk with wise ones and become wise; Companions of fools will suffer harm. One who spares the rod hates the child; Love seeks correction at the proper time. The righteous eats until the soul is satisfied; The wicked belly remains empty.
