The Fear of Man Brings a Snare

Proverbs · Bible Songs, Rock & Metal

Those corrected often, hardening their necks, May suddenly be broken beyond remedy. When the righteous rise, the people rejoice; When the wicked rule, the people groan. The fear of man will set a hidden snare, But whoever trusts the Lord is lifted high. Many seek the favor of a ruler, Yet true judgment comes from God on high. A righteous person understands the poor; The wicked will not listen to their claim. Mockers set a city into burning, But the wise turn back the heat of rage. A fool will pour out every angry feeling; A wise one holds it back and makes it still. A child left alone brings shame upon a mother; Correction gives the heart a disciplined will. Where there is no vision, people scatter; Blessed are the ones who keep the law. Pride will bring a person down to ruin; The humble in spirit will receive honor. Do not let the fear of human voices Fasten hidden cords around your soul. Trust the Lord, speak justice for the needy; Let His judgment make your courage whole.
