Out of Zion
Psalms · Bible Songs, Classical & Orchestral, Worship & Gospel
Deep down the senseless one decided
That there is no God above him at all.
Everything they handle has gone rotten;
Not one of them lives well.
The Lord leaned out of heaven
And looked the whole race over,
Searching for anyone who understood,
Anyone still looking for God.
Every one of them had turned off the road;
Together they had gone sour.
Not one of them lives well.
Not a single one.
Do they know nothing, these people who do harm,
Who devour my people the way they eat bread
And never once call on the Lord?
Fear took hold of them right there.
For God stands among those who are His.
You would shame the plan of the poor,
But the Lord is where he hides;
The Lord is his shelter still.
Let rescue for Israel
Come down out of Zion.
When the Lord turns His people home again,
Jacob will be glad and Israel will rejoice.
