Hear my prayer and do not hide Your presence; My days vanish like smoke into the air. Bones burn hot, and food has lost its sweetness; I lie awake like one bird on the roof. My days decline like evening shadows; I wither like the grass beneath the sun. But You, Lord, remain through every generation; Your remembrance never will be done. You will rise and show compassion unto Zion; The appointed time to favor her will come. Nations will revere Your holy name, When the Lord rebuilds and hears the destitute. He looked down from heaven on the prisoner, To release the ones appointed unto death. Earth and sky will perish like a garment, But Your years will never have an end.
