Babylon Is Fallen

Revelation · Nuevo Tango

[Chorus] Fallen in one hour, the lamp gone from the hall. Come out of her, my people; Babylon is fallen. [Verse 1] She sits on many waters, purple and scarlet, gold and pearls, a golden cup full of abominations. Upon her brow: Mystery, Babylon the Great. She is drunk with the blood of saints; the scarlet beast bears seven heads and ten horns. [Breakdown] Waters are peoples, multitudes, nations, tongues. The horns hate the woman and burn her with fire. The Lamb overcomes them, Lord of lords and King of kings. [Verse 2] An angel's glory lights the earth: the great city becomes a cage of every hateful bird. Kings traded power; merchants grew rich. Her sins reach heaven. Reward her double; fill her cup; her plagues arrive in one day. [Interlude] [Verse 3] Kings stand far off. Merchants weep. Shipmasters watch the smoke from sea. No buyer comes for gold, silk, spice, fine flour, cattle, horses, bodies, souls. A millstone falls into the deep: thus the great city will be thrown down. [Outro] No harp, no craftsman, no millstone, no candle, no bridegroom voice. In her was found the blood of prophets and saints.
