What this page covers

Where the videos go in 1 Chronicles

The videos here take 1 Chronicles as a whole rather than one passage at a time, so this is the ground they cover: “Nine Chapters of Names”, “Mighty Men and a Crown”, “The Ark Comes to the City”, “A House He Will Not Build”, “Courses of Priests, Singers and Gatekeepers” and “Everything in Order, and a Public Handover”.

Nine Chapters of Names (1 Chronicles 1–9). The history restarts at Adam and comes forward through lists that read like a directory and work like a deed. This is who we are, these are the families, this is the tribe the priests come from, and these are the ones who came back. A people who lost their country prove on paper that they still exist.

Everything in Order, and a Public Handover (1 Chronicles 27–29). David gives Solomon the pattern for the house, which he says was given to him in writing, and hands over the materials he has been stockpiling. Then he asks the assembly who is willing, and the giving that follows is counted out in front of everyone.
