2 Chronicles Videos

What this page covers

Where the videos go in 2 Chronicles

The videos here take 2 Chronicles as a whole rather than one passage at a time, so this is the ground they cover: “Wisdom, and a House of Gold”, “Good Kings, Bad Alliances”, “Singers Sent Out in Front of the Army”, “The Slide”, “Two Great Reforms, and the Fire” and “The Fire, and a Decree from Persia”.

Wisdom, and a House of Gold (2 Chronicles 1–9). Solomon asks for wisdom instead of wealth and is given both. The temple is built and dedicated with a prayer that keeps circling one idea: when they sin, and they will, and they turn back toward this place, then hear. Fire falls, the glory fills the house so the priests cannot enter, and God answers with the promise about humbling themselves and praying and seeking his face.

The Fire, and a Decree from Persia (2 Chronicles 33–36). The last kings mock the messengers until there is no remedy. The house is burned, the walls are broken, and the land keeps the sabbaths it was never given, seventy years of them. Then a Persian king signs an order and the book ends mid sentence, telling people to go up.
